Scott Woodruff from Mid-Coast Maine has a love of music that has taken him places he would have never thought possible.  He’s played dive bars to concert halls, backyards and bandstands to TV studios and radio studios, and now to the Frog Hollow Studio in Brunswick Maine where Jud Caswell yields great mystical powers helping to capture and refine his latest musical effort, “Them Old Bones”.  Truly appreciative for the talented musicians that have given of their time, talents and energy for his project Scott thanks Jud Caswell, Heather Hardy, April Reed Cox, Chris Simpson, Gary Lawless, Ben Hunsberger and Hal Ahlers.  They have added that “je ne sais quoi” to boost a mediocre attempt into a sparkling gem.

Some may know Scott Woodruff as an open mic host but there is more to Scott than being host of The Lively Open Mic at Ebenezer’s Brewpub every Tuesday from 7 to 10.  In his teens he was playing in a band that was booked in many of the hot spots in the greater Boston area from Mosely’s on the Charles to The Surf Salsbury.  Not too shabby for a high school  ”garage” band.  After college he was in several bands through the years, The Water’s Edge, The Lawn Ornaments, The Yurtbirds and currently with Leopard Girls.

Leaving the safety and comfort of being a band member, Scott took his first step into the solitary and sometimes scary world of solo artist over a decade ago performing at the Little Dog open mic.  He was amazed at how talented musicians could take the audience into another world with just a guitar and their voice.  It was the world that singer/songwriters create with melody, lyrics and talent.  Scott wanted to take part in that alchemy.

Today Scott enjoys mixing it up as solo artist and band member and his new CD “Them Old Bones” reflects his musical life.   Planned for release in August 2015, the CD is a mix of songs for just vocal and guitar, songs with some accompaniment and songs preformed with the whole 5 piece Leopard Girl band.  See “Shows” for the dates of the “Them Old Bones” release party and tour dates and sign up for E-Blasts to keep you up to date.
